Melinda Oakes, author “The Cheerleader’s Guide to the Workplace”

Melinda Carter Oakes is currently the Executive Director of the Triad Foundation in Ithaca. Melinda is an experienced Executive Director with a demonstrated history of working in the nonprofit, consumer products, and entertainment industries. She is a strong cross-functional professional with a heart for life-long learning. Passionate about civil discourse, civic engagement, and moderation, she serves on the boards of Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Science, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Ithaca Garden Club. She is also a member for The Empire Center for Public Policy, advisory board member for The Policy Circle, the Network of Enlightened Women, and vestry member at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
“The Cheerleader’s Guide to the Workplace” offers advice that shows how your attitude and perspective impact both you and those around you. The book aims to instill the courage, mindset, and enthusiasm to make it through the workday and entire career no matter what your goals are.
