Dive into Salvadoran artist Fernando Llort’s life, artistic journey, and signature style in an engaging presentation by Cathy Mullarney, back from an exciting visit to El Salvador — then unleash your creativity in a hands-on art-making session inspired by his colorful works!

All ages and skill levels welcome!

A brief presentation on Fernando Llort’s life and art will be followed by guided art-making using materials inspired by Llort’s colorful techniques.

Bring any of these supplies you want to use or are willing to share: art, craft, or watercolor paper, bright markers, acrylics, watercolors, brushes, black fine tip permanent markers.

About Fernando Llort

Fernando Llort (1949–2018) is one of El Salvador’s most celebrated artists, renowned for his colorful, folk-inspired paintings, mosaics, and crafts in bold shapes and vivid colors. Llort’s artistic vision helped shape the cultural identity of his home country, and his community projects have provided hundreds of ordinary Salvadorans with new artistic identities and incomes. His sons continue his legacy and Llort’s art continues to inspire artists worldwide.
